As long as democratic machinery is espousing it, reservations deserve respect

What´s the state of theory today? Humanism, no doubt, is the substratum but most concerns seem to be hijacked by the exigencies of technology apart from the political contingencies. Thus objectivity is missing and also perceiving how the unseen world is constantly shaping events.

Incremental development and percolation effect are a constant. Conceiving any overwhelming measures or conversely leaving things to an organic growth form a dilemma. Vision and coordination can set a momentum. Design can change the face of Indian landscape with focus on villages.

Crores of people live in the villages but this urban trend of applauding celebrities is a curious phenomenon. Caring for the underprivileged hasn't lost its relevance. A fraction of money and energy spent in luxury and fun can do wonders for the deprived sections of the society.

Castes can't be wished away like that; it's alive and kicking in countless villages. #SriAurobindo formulated the broad principles but to apply them in the present conditions may not be a sound strategy. So symmetry and uniformity are still distant dreams.

Please avoid disparaging remarks about other professions. We are in an interconnected world; just playing our part. Geography is uneven; society is so complex. So expecting symmetry and uniformity may not be appropriate. Further, a good and well paying profession is not enough.

I don´t disagree with you but as long as the democratic machinery is espousing it, reservation deserves respect. If some party in future is ready to abolish it, then it´s good. Till then, it´s not fair to find fault with this provision.

Technology aids development and it's unthinkable that there can be any halt. Further innovation can come from any corner of the world. An ordinary human being is just a spectator. But #SriAurobindo won't approve of such helplessness. Access to higher Consciousness can mould events.

I have been using Twitter since 2012 for expressing my views as SavitriEraParty and NathTusar. Besides, my blog at savitriera.blogspot.com is in operation since 2005. Savitri Era of those who adore, Om Sri Aurobindo and The Mother. Photo from Ashram at Talla Ramgarh, Uttarakhand

August 15, Sri Aurobindo´s birth anniversary Annual reminder of the agenda Evolutionary A journey towards a sublime human destiny Midst ignorance and suffering extraordinary Supramental Consciousness is very much in action What it needs is our unreserved collaboration.

Looking at history through the lens of Subhas can be as skewed as imagining everything in terms of Gandhi or Nehru. They have exhibited heroism or leadership but when it comes to visionary element, there´s no one who can match Sri Aurobindo. Revolution, yes but Evolution, urgent.

Excellent introduction by @AmanAlbelaa to the life and work of Sri Aurobindo, the greatest poet and philosopher of India, on the occasion of his 150th birth anniversary year celebrations from August 15. I speak on his current political relevance at 10:10. #FiveDreams #WorldUnion

@NathTusar interviewed by @aajtakradio for a podcast on Sri Aurobindo. At 10:10 min. A great conversation.

Many thanks for giving me this opportunity for saying a few words on the political relevance of Sri Aurobindo, when the country is standing on the crossroads. Content is almost flawless and the voice is powerful. Kuldip Mishra, Gopa Basu, and Jagjit Singh also feature in capsule.

Winning elections by hook or by crook has become the norm. But, Democracy demands restraint, eschewing misrepresentation, and fair play. So, society needs men and women of character and a line of thinking or ideology is also required. Sri Aurobindo provides them in ample measure.

RSS is trying hard to transform itself but somehow it can't shed the Jai Shriram slogan although Ram doesn't evoke equal reverence across the country. Any way, RSS moving towards a direction Sri Aurobindo would have liked is certainly heartening. Those facilitating deserve kudos.

Manmohan Singh was a puppet for ten years and Modi is a puppet for seven years now. A PM drawing direct support from the grassroots hasn't happened till now. Real involvement resides in the States which are actually separate nations. Central govt. is a conduit for manipulation.

Not autonomy but I'm campaigning for Sovereignty to the States. That may sound too futuristic but will materialise through Evolutionary pressure. As regards performance of Modi, it's pedestrian. All bureaucratic measures; where's the leader? He is a puppet; his hands are tight!

Democracy in India is in a very bad shape. It's the responsibility of we the citizens to set it right. Either the present election process has to be thoroughly changed or the States given Sovereignty. Otherwise, we are suffering from a sham Democracy and are deluding ourselves.

Savitri Era Chintadhara doesn´t tally with all that The Mother & Sri Aurobindo have said. When dealing with current issues we don´t have to stick to their utterances belonging to the last century. Citing them is anachronism and misrepresentation. Context and nuance are paramount.

Without bothering about the history too much; it can safely be said that the Constitution of India has become dysfunctional. Concentration of power in one hand has become a handmaiden of crony capitalism. Democracy needs to be reestablished by granting Sovereignty to the States.

Indian languages are languishing owing to onslaught of other languages and influx of outsiders. Awarding Sovereignty to the States will make local languages safe and sound. Rightsizing of nations will also spur entrepreneurship and innovation. So India must turn into a Federation.

A language makes a nation as we see in Europe. There should be a new country called Bhojpur comprising of all Bhojpuri speaking areas. More cohesion and more competition.

The Constitution of India is a product of history. Its shelf-life is over. Let the people draft their own Constitutions in their own languages so that real grassroots Democracy is established. Local languages and sentiments must be given due respect through Sovereignty to the States.

Ambitious and panoramic but the West is portrayed as a monolith. The same exuberance is ascribed to our culture. Breaking open the prison of such grand narratives is important since the reality is diverse and complex. Sri Aurobindo too is accused of painting a stereotype of West.

Fine but my only apprehension is that if there´s some misrepresentation. Western thinkers suffer from Eurocentrism and we should avoid that trap. Akin concerns

I speak at 10:10 as to why Sri Aurobindo should be considered seriously as a contender for an alternative political route. My debut in the MSM with a bang!

I don´t exactly agree with your perception of what Puducherry thinks or not. They have a certain mandate and they are trying to adhere to that. Expecting something more from them may not be right. It´s the academic community which should stand up to the challenge of Sri Aurobindo

Here I agree with you. In the academic scenario, Sri Aurobindo should be portrayed maximum as a mahayogi and a mystic poet. Since he has left behind a vast corpus of written words, he can't escape comparison or critical scrutiny. But informed studies should bury Nandy's mischief.

It's through debate and discussion that knowledge grows and misconceptions are uprooted. Spontaneity has it's own validity. That moment never returns. Beauty of Socratic dialogue is that. Twitter is meant for expressing free and frank opinion. Devotees of The Mother must interact
